SIMONA LAVAGNINI SPEAKER AT A WEBINAR ORGANIZED BY ASSEPRIM ON DIGITAL ECONOMY AND THE NEW FORMS OF UNFAIR COMPETITION

On June 27th Ms. Simona Lavagnini will participate as a speaker in a webinar organized by Asseprim that will deal with the topic of classification of the new business models in the digital economy from the point of view of competition law.

 

The digital economy has created new business models that have radically changed some sectors of the supply of goods and services, as well as the methods of communication and promotion of the companies themselves. The so-called sharing economy, the sites for the comparison of prices and quality of services, the so-called confusing keyword marketing are just a few examples of these innovations. However, the great success of these models must be balanced with the risks that they may create, represented by the possibility that the new services violate the rules of unfair competition and antitrust, may be characterized by poor transparency and may also lead to a series of further irregularities in the field of labour law, tax and security.

Ms. Simona Lavagnini will present some of these new business models, highlighting the critical issues from the point of view of competition law, referring also to some practical cases.


SIMONA LAVAGNINI SPEAKER AT THE EVENT “IP RIGHTS IN THE FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION”

On June 20, 2019, Simona Lavagnini will participate as a speaker at the conference “IP RIGHTS IN THE FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION”, organized by AIPPI – International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property – at the headquarters of Just Legal Services in Milan, via Laghetto 3.

 

The conference, moderated by the Secretary of AIPPI, will be attended by many speakers who will address the current issue of the impact of the digital revolution on traditional categories of IP rights. Among these, Simona Lavagnini, Deputy Secretary of AIPPI and founding partner of LGV Avvocati, will address the theme of “Copyright and Artificial Intelligence”.

TANKRED THIEM WILL BE ATTENDING TO THE CONVENTION “GERMANY AND ITALY: POINTS OF LAW AND COMPARISON OF CULTURES”

The event, which will take place on Friday June 7, 2019 at the “Sala Curò di Città Alta”, in the city of Bergamo, is organized by DAV Italia, the Italian division of the “Deutscher Anwaltverein” (DAV), Association of German Lawyers. With over 67.000 members, DAV is the largest association of lawyers in the world, also thanks to the dense network of local associations established in Germany and abroad.

 

During the meeting, topics of great relevance will be discussed, such as the relationship between the German and Italian markets, with particular attention to the historical comparison of the respective legal systems and the possible present and future synergies between the two systems. The convention will also see the alternation of speeches in commentary to the EU directive no. 52/2008 on transnational civil mediation, with specific focus on disputes in the fields of environment and succession law.

Tankred Thiem, partner of LGV and member of DAV Italia, of which he is vice-president since 2007, has actively participated to the convention’s organization.


LGV IN BOSTON FOR THE 2019 INTA CONVENTION

LGV Avvocati’s founding partner, Mr. Luigi Goglia, will be attending INTA with a view to consolidating old relationships and forming new ones.

 

LGV Avvocati’s founding partner, Mr. Luigi Goglia, will be at the annual Convention dedicated to trademarks and organized by INTA (the International Trademark Association). The event will be held in Boston from 18 to 22 May 2019 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC).


SIMONA LAVAGNINI WILL BE SPEAKER AT THE CONVENTION “DISPUTES IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR: MEDIATION AND ARBITRATION IN COPYRIGHT”

The event will take place on Tuesday April 9, 2019 at the Arbitration Chamber of Milan.

 

During the meeting, organized by ALAI Italy (the Italian branch of the “Association Littéraire et Artistique Internationale”) together with the Arbitration Chamber of Milan, various copyright experts will alternate in the presentation and explanation of the most current and relevant aspects of the use of alternative disputes resolutions tools in disputes regarding intellectual property rights, with specific focus on the fields of music, art and audiovisual works.

Ms. Lavagnini, partner of LGV and member of ALAI Italy, will focus her speech on the explanation of an overview of the main alternative dispute resolution tools.
